Description
Mr. Terpstra is a partner at Kineticorp, a forensic engineering and visualization company located in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Terpstra specializes in photogrammetry, video analysis and 3D site reconstruction. He has testified in state and federal courts on civil and criminal matters, and has been retained by plaintiff, prosecution, and defense counsel. He has published peer reviewed publications with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the Acoustical Society of America (ASA), the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), and the Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction (ACSR), in the areas of reverse camera projection, onsite photogrammetry, lens distortion correction, photo-scanning, camera-matching photogrammetry, 3D scene reconstruction, LiDAR, virtual reality, videogrammetry, and acoustics. Mr. Terpstra also serves as a peer reviewer for research papers in the Occupant Protection: Accident Reconstruction Session for the SAE World Congress, for the Association of for Crime Scene Reconstruction, and the Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners. He is a certified forensic video technician through the Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Video Association International (LEVA) and holds a (Part 107) remote pilot license. He is currently the lead instructor for an ACTAR (Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction) accredited, three-day course offered by SAE titled: “Photogrammetry and Digital Media Analysisâ€Â. Mr. Terpstra has worked on product liability cases, vehicular accidents, tree failure cases, sports-related incidents, fire cause and origin cases, industrial accidents and shooting incident reconstruction cases.
