Dr. Hill is board-certified in Internal Medicine and has a Graduate Certificate in Clinical informatics from Oregon Health and Science University. He has 14 years of experience practicing as a hospitalist in Portland, OR. He serves as the Chief Health Information Officer at a 302-bed community hospital. As Chief Health Information Officer, he is in charge of clinical aspects of the Electronic Health Record which pertain to physicians including documentation, ordersets, and training. He has led hospital EHR implementation efforts of large EHRs including Cerner and Epic.

He also is Charmain of the Department of Medicine where he supervises the development of policies, procedures and credentialing standards for multiple medical specialties including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Critical Care, Nephrology and Neurology. He is responsible for oversight of initiatives to improve patient safety such as peer review and ongoing peer professional evaluation.
