Cheryl Scanlon-Zinner is a board-certified safety professional with over twenty-five years of experience developing and implementing occupational safety programs in construction and general industry for employers, corporations and government agencies. She has trained thousands of management representatives, supervisors, and competent persons on the principles and practices of safety management, hazard identification, hazard evaluation and the implementation of the hierarchy of controls. 
She specializes in hazards that are likely to cause serious injuries and fatalities (SIFs), including falls from elevation, and other construction hazards, machinery hazards, forklifts, and ladders.

She was the technical editor of Nigel's Ellis's textbook Introduction to Fall Protection. 

Cheryl is a member of several professional safety organizations. She was the president of the Philadelphia chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals and is active in that organization. She was awarded the chapter's Safety Professional of the Year honor. She is also an active member of the Delmarva Safety Association, the International Society for Fall Protection and Women in Safety Excellence.

Cheryl has acted as Site Safety Officer on over one hundred hazardous waste site remediation and construction projects. She has written over three hundred site specific safety plans and performed safety inspections and audits of hundreds of construction sites.

Cheryl's company Safety Research, Inc. provides independent case evaluation of safety responsibility based on the principles and practices of injury prevention established by industry safety authorities and the Occupational Safety and Health Act, that is, the standard of care. Cheryl has performed litigation support for attorneys in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Arizona, Vermont and New Mexico. 

In addition to her expert witness work, Cheryl runs a successful safety consulting practice.
