Description
Mr. Calman has more than 30 years of experience as a banking leader, fintech innovator and industry group collaborator. His work has focused on enabling innovation and developing mobile financial services, online banking, Check21 image processing and distributed capture at large scale. Mr. Calman led Bank of America's Process Engineering team for its initial deployment of Check21 image exchange in 2004, responsible for implementation, technology, specifications, supply chain RFI/RFP, standards and industry relations. For seven years he led the bank's R&D function for mobile deposits, mobile commerce, mobile wallet, augmented reality, biometrics, video banking, machine vision and other emerging technologies. He was a research affiliate at the MIT Media Lab where he led the Center for Future Banking from 2009-2012. Mr. Calman is a named inventor on 96 issued U.S. patents and 244 U.S. patent applications and was twice awarded Inventor of the Year by Bank of America. At Microsoft, his team led a global community of Fortune 100 innovation executives prototyping and deploying cloud cryptography, VR/AR/MR and AI technologies. As an Expert Witness, Mr. Calman has supported both Plaintiff and Defense teams in disputes before Federal District Courts, the AAA the USPTO PTAB, and the European Commission.
